Since my wife and I live in Los Angeles, we decided to drop by the Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies (SOCES) middle school production of My Son Pinocchio. With a cast of thousands (give or take), the show was a blast! Congratulations to the entire group of enthusiastic drama students (and teachers and parents).

My Son Pinocchio Jr. Roll-Out Continues!
The junior version of My Son Pinocchio opens tonight at the Taft Theater in Cincinnati, OH! As Disney/MTI continues to roll out the new shorter, more kid-focused version of the show, hopefully we will get to see more fantastic interviews with budding stars like the following —

Strange Inspiration
As Disney/MTI starts to roll out the various incarnations of My Son Pinocchio, an array of tangential material has started to appear on the web — some of it clearly from the dusty recesses of fringe imaginations…

My Son Pinocchio in Queens!
Yes, that’s right — My Son Pinocchio (the shortened “Junior” version) premiered at the OWN Charter School in Astoria! And let me just say that you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a group of middle school kids perform your work. I loved every minute of it — and was moved by the effort and dedication that everyone put into the production. This is a school that doesn’t normally have a drama program — so they created this event out of thin air (and a lot of caring grown-up involvement). Truly inspiring.
